Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

Yes. I currently accept select commercial insurance plans through Headway and Alma. Please see the insurance page for more information about accepted plans and coverage.

How do payments work?

Billing is processed securely through Headway or Alma. I’ll help guide you through the setup process when getting started.

What if I am out-of-network?

If you are out-of-network or do not have insurance, my self-pay rates are as follows.

  • Initial Psychiatric Evaluation (60 minutes): $300
This session includes a comprehensive review of your psychiatric, medical, and personal history, along with discussion of your current concerns and development of an initial treatment plan, including medication recommendations when appropriate.

  • Medication Follow-Up Appointments (30 minutes): $225
Follow-up sessions focus on ongoing psychiatric care and medication management. These sessions may also include supportive therapy, coping skills, and discussion of emotional and relational patterns as needed.

  • Therapy Sessions (50 minutes): $250
Therapy sessions are typically held weekly or biweekly and focus on developing insight into longstanding emotional patterns, relationships, and coping strategies while working toward meaningful change.

Are appointments in-person or virtual?

Currently, I offer telehealth appointments only. In-person sessions may be offered in the future.

What is your availability?

Please contact me directly for current availability and scheduling options.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy-informed care.

What if I’m unsure whether therapy or medication is right for me?

I offer a free 15 minute introductory call to briefly discuss your concerns and see whether we may be a good fit to work together. We can explore together whether therapy, medication, or a combination of both may be the best fit for your needs. There is no pressure or obligation to move forward with treatment.

What are the sessions like?

Sessions are collaborative and individualized. Initial appointments focus on understanding your concerns, history, and goals for treatment. There’s no “right” way to talk about yourself — my goal is to help you feel comfortable enough to share openly while guiding the conversation along the way.

How long are sessions?

Initial evaluations are typically 60 minutes. Medication follow-up appointments are 30 minutes, and therapy sessions are 50 minutes.

How often will we meet?

Frequency depends on your needs and treatment goals. Medication follow-ups are often every 2–4 weeks initially, while therapy may be weekly or biweekly.

What concerns do you commonly work with?

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and stress-related challenges.

I also have a special interest in working with Asian American and Asian immigrant individuals navigating cultural identity, family expectations, acculturation, and other cross-cultural experiences.

For those who desire it, I offer faith-informed Christian care that can be integrated into both medication management and psychotherapy.

Do you provide medication management only or therapy-only services?

Yes. Some patients work with me primarily for medication management, while others seek psychotherapy without medication. Many patients benefit from a combination of both. Together, we can determine the approach that best meets your needs and adjust it over time as your goals and circumstances change.

What is Schema Therapy and CBT?

Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) both focus on understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. CBT helps identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier coping strategies, while Schema Therapy focuses more deeply on longstanding emotional and relational patterns that may continue affecting the present.

What does faith integration look like, and how do I get started?

For patients who would like it incorporated, I can integrate Christian and biblically informed perspectives into therapy, coping strategies, and psychiatric treatment. Faith integration is always optional — simply let me know at any point during treatment if you would like it included or not included in our work together.

Do I need to be religious to work with you?

Not at all! Faith integration is optional, and I work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs.
